ATA 153

Flame monitor

Error identification

The flame disappears in the MAX position.

 

Cause

The flame disappears when the temperature exceeds 90°C and the auxiliary heater is in the MAX operating mode.

 

Notes

Action

Check that the exhaust pipe for the combustion air fan is not blocked.

Check the combustion chamber.

Check the fuel supply.

Check the flame monitor.

Check the glow plug. See the Internal electrical diagram under Connections. Measurement points 1 and 2 in harness-to-harness connector B for the control unit.

 

Resistance:

2 +/- 0.2 ohms.

Instructions for the checking procedures are found in the work description in Multi under 18-90 “H13, ATA Auxiliary heater – air”.

 

 

ATA 154

Flame monitor

Error identification

The flame disappears in the HIGH position.

 

Cause

The flame disappears when the temperature exceeds 90°C and the auxiliary heater is in the HIGH operating mode.

 

Notes

Action

Check the fuel supply.

Check that the exhaust pipe for the combustion air fan is not blocked.

Check the combustion chamber.

Check the flame monitor.

Check the glow plug. See internal electrical diagram. Measurement points 1 and 2 in harness-to-harness connector B for the control unit.

 

Resistance:

2 +/- 0.2 ohms.

ATA 155

Flame monitor

Error identification

The flame disappears in the INTERMEDIATE position.

 

Cause

The flame disappears when the temperature exceeds 90°C at ATA 1 or 85°C at ATA 2 and the auxiliary heater is in the INTERMEDIATE operating mode.

 

Notes

Action

Check the fuel supply.

Check that the exhaust pipe for the combustion air fan is not blocked.

Check the combustion chamber.

Check the flame monitor.

Check the glow plug. See the Internal wiring diagram under Connections. Measurement points 1 and 2 in connector B for the control unit.

 

Resistance:

2 +/- 0.2 ohms.

ATA 156

Flame monitor

Error identification

The flame disappears in the LOW position.

 

Cause

The flame disappears when the temperature exceeds 95°C at ATA 1 or 80°C at ATA 2 and the auxiliary heater is in the LOW operating mode.

 

Notes

Action

Check the fuel supply.

Check that the exhaust pipe for the combustion air fan is not blocked.

Check the combustion chamber.

Check the flame monitor.

Check the glow plug. See the Internal electrical diagram under Connections. Measurement points 1 and 2 in harness-to-harness connector B for the control unit.

 

Resistance:

2 +/- 0.2 ohms.

ATA 164

Flame monitor

Error identification

Prohibited voltage level in the circuit for the flame monitor.

 

Cause

Open circuit in the flame monitor circuit.

 

Notes

Action

Check the flame monitor.

The checking procedure is described in the work description in Multi under 18-90 “H13, ATA Auxiliary heater – air”.

 

 

ATA 165

Flame monitor

Error identification

Prohibited voltage level in the circuit for the flame monitor.

 

Cause

Short circuit in the flame monitor circuit.

 

Notes

Action

Check the flame monitor.
