Richard Ruiz is an automotive locksmith and automotive mechatronic technician who also provide related services in US. We interviewed him about his experiences with Xhorse since he entered this industry.
1. What is your first Xhorse tool?
I started using Xhorse in the beginning of June 2019. My first tool that started my journey was the Mini Key Tool with 5 Super Chips, 5 Wired Remotes, 5 Wireless and 2 Super Remotes. I must say, as a beginner in the field of Automotive Locksmithing, I had no clue what I was doing! But with the help of the Xhorse Community, it wasn’t long before I launch and started falling in love with Xhorse and your products!
2. What’s your favorite Xhorse tool?
My favorite tool or rather I should say are the accessories will definitely be the Solder-less Adapters with the Key Tool Plus as the main driver. Everything that can be done on 1 device is a A++++.
3. Which tool would you recommend an autimotive locksmith to purchase to start the business?
For those who are new to the Automotive Locksmith Industry, I would recommend and highly suggest the Key Tool Max with the Mini OBD or the newly introduced Key Tool Max Pro as the entry tool for the Trade. These tools have the necessary protocols and access to get you from point A to B. The menus are sleek, the tools are snappy. There’s no better feeling than completing the job with the tool you love. In my case, it’s the Key Tool Plus.
4. Your thoughts on CONDOR XC-MINI PLUSⅡ and DOLPHIN XP-005L?
I remember the time I bought my first key cutter. The CONDOR XC-MINI PLUS II was and still is my main machine that never lets me down! That Tank is built to withstand an earthquake and because that the CONDOR will alway be in my arsenal. I just recently acquired the Dolphin XP-005L and so far that machine has surpassed my every expectations. In terms of functionality, diversity, durability and esthetics, the Dolphin XP-005L has become my favorite portable handheld Mini Tank for quick jobs on the field. If I can suggest 1 think it’ll be to load the Key Bitting Data without the need of internet. There’s times where internet is unaccessible.
5. How do you like KEY TOOL PLUS?
When the Key Tool Plus was first announced I couldn’t sleep. I was at awe with how beautiful the tool look and the features that were jam packed into it. After it was released, I made sure to snag me a copy and right away I was familiar with the tool’s menu, features, the user interface is by far my favorite. Coming from the VVDI2, VVDI MB, VVDI Prog, I was ecstatic to find out the Key Tool Plus would be a combination of the 3 tools into 1. Key Tool Plus still till this day is my main tool for everything Automotive Locksmith.
6. What do you think makes Xhorse different from its competitors?
Honestly coming from someone who had the majority of the tools on the market, I always gravitate to Xhorse because the tools familiarity, structure has become a part of me. I’ve come a long way from that young kid back in 2019 that didn’t know the difference between wired and wireless remotes . Now I’m a advocate for Xhorse products.
