There is an “Unlock DME” option in the Yanhua ACDP APP for BMW G series BDC2 all keys lost.
Some customers are curious about what this function is and how to use it.
Check the detailed introduction with Q&A.
Q1: What does “Unlock DME” mean? Does it apply to engine ECUs (DMEs) blocked after October 2020?
A: “Unlock DME” allows you to rewrite immobilizer data to a locked engine control unit (DME).
If you have a second-hand DME, this function lets you prepare it for installation in another vehicle by removing immobilizer restrictions.
Q2: Does the “Unlock DME” require BMW BDC2 AKL Test Platform license?
A: Yes, requires A504 license activation in ACDP.
Q3: Which engine models is this function used for?
A: The “Unlock DME” function is available for B48/B58 engines (F chassis and G chassis) that can read engine EEPROM data by Yanhua Mini ACDP/ACDP2.
Q4: Does this function use OBD or bench mode?
A: It’s done via OBD.
Q5: How to use “Unlock DME”?
1.Read & save EEPROM data from the original DME first.
2.Use Module 3 + B48 interface board in bench mode to read B48 EEPROM data
3.Select “Unlock DME” function
4.Plug ACDP into the OBD-II port of the BMW car
Upload the backup EEPROM data
Follow on-screen prompts to complete the unlock process.
Q6: When I click the “Unlock DME” function and it appears “The Application file size is less than 100kb”, what does it mean?
A: The issue may occur because the all-keys-lost application hasn’t been successfully uploaded to the server. It will be solved by Yanhua Tech, just stay tuned!
