How to reset Toyota 89170-78150 R7F7016843 airbag ECU with OBDSTAR P50 on bench?

Device and ECU required:

OBDSTAR P004 Adapter and Jumper

OBDSTAR CANFD Adapter

OBDSTAR P50 Airbag Reset Tool

Main cable

Toyota 89170-78150 R7F7016843 airbag ECU

Important tips:

Keep P50 charging and make sure network connection is normal during the operation, and then follow the operation guide in the tablet software to do step by step.

Step-by-step guide:

Select Airbag Reset>> All>> Airbag Reset icon>> Airbag Reset V30.52 (choose the newest version)

Select BRAND>> TOYOTA

Input the ECU part number 78150 in the search box to quickly find the airbag ECU (Case insensitive, fuzzy search supported)

Choose Toyota 89170-78150 (DENSO) R7F7016843 (BENCH)

Check the Pinout

Connect OBDSTAR CAN-FD Adapter and OBDSTAR P004 Adapter, and connect P004 Adapter and airbag ECU via the P004 Jumper, and connect CANFD Adapter to P50 airbag reset tool via the main cable

Press the ON button on P004 Adapter after connection

Start to perform the functions below one by one:

Read ECU info>> Read DTC>> Read EEPROM data (R7F7016843)>> Erase crash>> Erase DTC>> Read DTC

Step 1: Read ECU info

Check if the airbag part number is correct

Step 2: Read DTC

There is a crash fault code “B1160-49-AB!!! Airbag ECU Failure!!!”

Step 3: Read EEPROM data (R7F7016843)

Select Advanced Function>> Read EEPROM data (R7F7016843)

Press Start to read data

Save the data read out

Operation success

Turn off the P004 Adapter, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn on again

Step 4: Erase crash

Select the original EEPROM data to erase crash

Erase crash successfully, and then continue to write EEPROM data

Operation success

Turn off the P004 Adapter, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn on again

Step 4: Erase DTC

Erase DTC successfully

Step 5: Read DTC again

No crash fault code now.
