Good news!!! Now customers can update the “X-431 HD” APP to the “X-431” APP on the Launch X431 PAD V Elite with SmartLink C (X431 PAD5 LINK HD). The new APP provides all the functions of the previous version while integrating resources from the passenger car APP into one streamlined platform. This update enhances usability and improves interaction between features.”

To support gasoline cars and diesel heavy-duty trucks, X431 PAD V Elite with Launch SmartLink C needs to work with the extra heavy-duty truck software license and adapters.

How to update “X-431 HD” APP to the “X-431” APP?

Uninstall the X-431 HD APP

On the X-431 HD main interface, tap the “Back” button to exit the application.

Tap the “^” icon to open the menu.

Press and hold the “X-431 HD” APP icon, then select “Uninstall.”

Once the uninstallation is complete, proceed to the next step.

Install the X-431 APP

Go to APP Init

The device will automatically retrieve the 12-digit serial number (SN).

Verify the SN from the X431 tool’s password envelope, then click “OK” to download and install the X-431 APP.

After installation, press the “Back” button again to exit the program.

Open and Configure the X-431 APP

Launch the “X-431” APP

Follow the prompts to grant the app permissions, including access to location, photos, device management, and drawing over other apps, etc

Enter the device SN to load the correct product information

The screen will switch to the X-431 PAD5 LINK HD interface.

Log in with your account number and password

The X-431 HD APP is now successfully upgraded to the X-431 APP.
