There is [Special Function] on the menu for Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max, Max Pro, Mini Key Tool, and Key Tool Plus. It can be really useful and great to have in many scenarios. Follow this post to learn more knowledge.
1.Remote Cloud Recognition
If you don’t know which option needs to be generated for a vehicle, you can this Remote Cloud Recognition function.
e.g. VVDI Key Tool Max Pro
Step 1:
Select Special Function>> Remote Cloud Recognition>> Start testing
Step 2:
Select a remote type (i.e Toyota smart key)
Step 3:
Press the lock button of your car key, and put the key into the coil of Key Tool Max Pro
It will recognize the remote successfully, and we can get detailed info on the remote.
Step 4:
Select the remote to generate directly.
2.Remote Renew
Certain vehicle keys will be locked after they are programmed to the vehicle and hence cannot be generated and programmed to another car. In this case, we need to renew the remote before reusing it. This only applies to OEM keys and after renewing the remote, it becomes unlocked and can be programmed to many different vehicles.
To complete remote renew, you may need the key renew adapter or the renew cable depending on the vehicle.

3.IC/ID Clone
IC/ID cloning allows for the replication of IC or ID cards.
It’s very simple to do. Just put the card on the coil directly, and you’re good to go.
4.Ignition Switch Coil Signal Detection
You may need to use the function in these two situations.
Case 1: You’re unsure about the type of the vehicle remote transponder
Solution: put the collection antenna of the Xhorse tool close to the ignition switch and turn the key several times. It’ll tell you it’s a 46, 48 or any other transponder type.
Case 2: Sometimes, the vehicle cannot be started with the original remote and you’re not sure the problem is in the key or the antenna coil of the vehicle. Then you also can use the method to detect where the problem is.
5.Remote Charge Battery
You can use this function for old-type BMW EWS series models with rechargeable keys. These rechargeable keys usually have a button battery inside. You can use this feature to charge the battery of the remote.
6.Unlock Toyota Smart Key
The function is the same as [Remote renew] function. But the main difference is that you don’t need to use any cable when using [Unlock Toyota smart key] function.
Just place the PCB board into the recognition slot and hit unlock. And it’ll start unlocking the key.
7.Honda Cycle Key Renew
The function is only can be used for Honda motorbikes. Just put the transponder into the coil position for reading and then you’re ready to go and unlock the Honda motorbike keys.
8.8E Remote Upgrade/Unlock
The function is mainly designed for Xhorse 8E remotes. It can upgrade and unlock Xhorse 8E remote.
9.Mazda ID49 Smart Key Light Repair
Mazda 49 key is a bit special. If the original remote is a two-button remote, you can program it with a three-button remote. But there will be a light display on the dashboard after programming successfully. In this case, you can use this function of VVDI Key Tool Plus or other Xhorse device to erase the light with the original key.
