Problem:
The issue occurs with a Dacia Duster 2019 instrument cluster equipped with an RH850 processor (R7F10400). After performing mileage correction via OBD using an OBDSTAR Odomaster, the dashboard goes black. Attempts to write a backup via OBD result in the same problem—a persistent black screen.
Similar issues have been reported with the Renault Master dashboard (RH850 microprocessor). Even after restoring the flash file saved by OBDSTAR, the dashboard remains non-functional, with no communication or display.
Solution:
1.Backup the Original Data
First, read and save the current data from the processor as a backup.
2.Write the Flash File
Write the flash file previously read by OBDSTAR to the processor.
3.Using Xtool (Polish Device)
Some users have successfully resolved this issue with Xtool Poland.
Follow the instructions provided in Xtool software for writing the flash file.
Use the provided wiring diagram for Xtool. Ensure the wiring order matches the instructions.
Key Points for Wiring:
Two blue pins are used; there’s no need to split them.
The wiring connections match those on the SMOK JTAG (same colors).
Extend the blue wire as needed for proper connection.
Flash the original file via the Xtool pinout to restore dashboard functionality.
5.Using SMOK JTAG Programmer
The SMOK JTAG programmer can also recover this cluster.
Write only the FLASH file—do not modify or touch the Dataflash.
After writing the correct flash file, the dashboard should return to its original working state.
Important Notes:
Be cautious when using JTAG programmers on this type of dashboard. A single mistake during the process could permanently damage the cluster.
Always ensure proper connection and double-check all wiring before writing.
Do not write or modify Dataflash unless specifically instructed.
By following these steps, you can successfully recover the instrument cluster to its original functionality.
