PART II
Flash Autel IM608II firmware
If your Autel MaxiIM IM608 II or IM608 Pro II tablet is stuck on the boot logo or the shutting down interface, you can perform a firmware reflash to resolve the issue. Note: This process will reset the device to factory settings, erasing all data.
Where to Download the IM608 Pro II Reflash File?
The reflash file is large (3.5GB). Contact www.chinaobd2.com customer service to download the flash file.
How to Flash Autel IM608 Pro II Firmware?
Follow these steps carefully. Start with Steps 1, 3, and 4 first. If the issue persists, try Steps 2, 3, and 4.
Enter Burning Mode Using a TF Card
Copy the “dv2123” folder to the root directory of the TF card.
Insert the TF card into the tablet, then restart the device. The tablet will automatically enter burning mode.
Connect the tablet’s motherboard to a PC via USB. In the PC’s Device Manager, you should see the device listed.
Enter Flashing Mode (If Step 1 Fails)
Open the device’s top cover, unplug the battery, then reconnect it. Power off the device (the power indicator light should not light up).
Press and hold the button on the motherboard, then connect the mini USB (applies only to 906Pro-660 models).
Install Flash Driver and Flashing Tool
Unzip the flash driver and toolkit file (QPST_2.7.496.zip).
Install the driver by running Qualcomm USB Driver V1.0.exe and follow the on-screen instructions (click “Next” to proceed).
Install the flashing tool by running QPST.2.7.496.1.exe and continue through the installation process until complete.
Open the flashing tool by typing “qfil” in the system search box.
Wait for the port to display as “9008” in the tool, then select it (refer to the image below if needed).
Choose the program storage location.
Load the XML file.
Click “Download” and release the button on the motherboard. Wait until you see “Download Success.”
Configure NV Settings
Copy the “NvConfigs” directory from the firmware to the root directory of the TF card, a U disk, or push it to the /sdcard directory.
Open the serial number burning app, then click to write the NV configuration.
Select the corresponding NV settings and click “OK.” The device will restart automatically.
If the writing is successful, the device will reboot automatically. If there’s a failure, it won’t restart automatically.
After restarting, enter the management program interface, go to Settings > About, and check the product name to ensure it displays the correct product.
Tips:
Ensure your PC runs a Windows operating system for compatibility.
If you want to retain downloaded vehicle software, create a text file named “keepcar” and place it in the root directory of the TF card or U disk before flashing.
