This guide can compatible to vehicle models:
Benz C350 (2007-14), SLK350 (2004-14), CLS350 (2004-14), CLK350 (2005-14), E350 (2005-14), S350 (2005-14), SL350 (2005-14), R350 (2006-14), ML350 (2006-14), Viano (2005-14), Sprinter (2006-14), CLC350 (2008-14), GLK350 (2008-12)
Procedures:
You will need to remove the engine covers(red and yellow arrows) and air intake ducts (green arrows) to perform this work. Please see our article on engine cover: How to Remove Benz C Class W204 Engine Cover
You next to need to remove the MAF (red arrow) and vacuum line (yellow arroww). Please see our article on MAF sensor replacement for additional information: How to Replace MAF Sensor for Mercedes Benz W204
Disconnect the breather hose from the rear of the right cylinder head (red arrow)
Unclip the two plastic clips on the elbow piece between the MAF and throttle body (red arrow) and remove the elbow and attached hose.
You now have some room to work.Depending on what hand you are better with spray a rag with carb cleaner and reach into the throttle body and clean the opening and valve (red arrow)
The lower right side of the throttle body tends to build up more oil and dirt than the left due to the proximity of the breather hose(red arrow). You can manually open the throttle valve while doing this to clean behind it.It is very difficult to see in the throttle body opening without using a mirror (and more difficult to get picture of so sorry for the slightly blurry photo). If you do not have a small mirror just keep wiping until the rag comes out clean. After cleaning installation is the reverse of removal.
