How to Check if Your 2018+ JLR is Supported by Lonsdor K518 Pro?

Here is a quick guide to help you confirm if your 2018+ JLR model (i.e. 2023 Defender Locked RFA) can be programmed by Lonsdor K518 Pro.

To check if your car is equipped with a keyless entry feature:

Attempt to unlock the car by simply holding the door handle.

If successful, your car supports PSPS (Passive Entry Passive Start), also known as the Keyless Entry function.

1.Low-Configuration JLR (without keyless entry):

Direct copying is supported and easy to use(via OBD).
Some models with 32-bit secret keys will prompt a message indicating that copying is not supported.
In cases of all keys lost, the low-configuration vehicles can be handled without dismantling.

2.High-Configuration JLR (supports keyless entry):

Direct copying is supported but offers no smart functionality—only remote control and emergency start.
For smart functionality, the process must follow the “all keys lost” procedure.

3.JPLA Version Requirements:

The CPU chip or RFA box must first be replaced.
Use the K518 key programmerto access the replacement RFA menu to complete the “all keys lost” process.
Keys programmed through this process will include smart, remote control, and keyless entry functions.
For vehicles without smart functionality, the vehicle configuration must be adjusted to disable the UWB function.
If all keys are lost, replacing the RFA box requires two keys.

4.Configuration Steps for JPLA Version:

Adjust vehicle configuration using the 518 tool.
Replace the RFA box or CPU chip.
If the 518 tool fails, use the original instrument for replacement and then match the key using 518.
For all keys lost with alarms, a JLR adapter cableis required.

5.K8D2 Version Limitations:

The 518 tool may not work for this version.

In such cases, the process must be carried out through specialized inspection.
