For Yanmar diesel engines used in agricultural equipment, excavators, tractors, marine generators, and diagnostic tools.
(1) Disassembly Order
Nut M8 (Disconnect the connecting cable)
Screw M4 (2)
Through bolt M5 (2)
Rear cover
Brush holder
Yoke clip
Return spring
Pinion shaft
Clutch assembly
(2) Disassembly Procedure
Nut M8
Remove the nut M8 (12mm) from the magnet switch and disconnect the connection cable.
M4 Screws (2)
Remove the two M4 screws.
M5 Through Screws (2)
Remove the two M5 through screws.
Rear Cover
Remove the M4 screws securing the brush holder to the rear cover.
Remove the through screws M5 and then remove the rear cover.
Brush Holder
Use a brush spring puller to pull the brush springs upwards.
Touch the negative (-) side brush spring to the side of the brush and release it from the brush.
On the positive (+) side, pull the brush out of the brush holder.
Yoke Assembly
Remove the yoke clip and then remove the yoke assembly.
Anchor
Remove the brush holder.
Remove the anchor and yoke assembly.
M6 Screws (2)
Remove the M6 screws (10mm) to remove the magnetic switch.
Magnetic Switch
Remove the magnetic switch.
Dust Cap
Remove the dust cap from the gearbox housing.
Shift Lever
Remove the gear lever.
M4 Screws (3)
Remove the three M4 screws.
Bearing Holder
Remove the bearing holder.
Gear Case
Remove the M4 screws to remove the bearing holder and clutch assembly.
Pinion Stopper Clip
Remove the bearing holder and bearing at the end.
Slide the pinion stopper inwards.
Use a screwdriver to pry off the pinion stopper clip.
Pinion Stopper
Remove the pinion stopper.
Return Spring
Remove the return spring.
Pinion Shaft
Remove the pinion shaft.
Clutch Assembly
Remove the sprocket stopper clip.
Remove the pinion stopper, return spring, pinion shaft, and bearing holder.
