Here is the instruction show you guide on how to change oil and oil filter for CLAAS LEXION 8900-5300 with Mercedes-Benz/MAN diesel engine.

Applies to: Mercedes-Benz diesel engine / MAN
Pre-condition:
Oil filter
O-ring
Multi-purpose grease
Oil collection container
Oil
Torque wrench 40 Nm for MAN diesel engine
Torque wrench 55 Nm for Mercedes Benz diesel engine
Drain the oil immediately after stopping the diesel engine at operating temperature. Dirt particles in the oil pan are flushed out along with the draining oil.
► Park the machine on level ground.
► Switch off and secure the machine.
► Clean the diesel engine and the surrounding area.
► Locate the oil filler neck and the oil filter in the diesel engine overview.
► Unscrew the oil filler neck.
► Unscrew lid (1) including filter (2) by 1 cm .
► Wait for the oil to run out of filter (2).
► Pull out lid (1) including filter (2) completely.
► Position hose at (1).
► Loosen nut (2).
► Collect the used oil in a suitable container.
► Tighten nut (2).
► Remove the hose.
Changing the oil filter
► Check if filter (3) contains foreign objects.
► Remove filter (3) by pressing laterally at the bottom edge of filter (3).
► Do not let any foreign objects end up in the filter housing!
► Never wipe out the filter housing.
► Replace sealing ring (2) of the lid.
Slightly grease sealing ring (2) with multi-purpose grease.
► Insert a new filter (3) into lid (1).
Applies to: Mercedes-Benz diesel engine
► Screw on lid (1) with the filter.
Tightening torque = 55 Nm
► Screw on lid (1) with the filter.
Tightening torque = 40 Nm
Topping up oil
NOTICE!
When the oil level is above the upper mark on the oil level dipstick, the diesel engine may be damaged.
► Top up oil no higher than up to the upper mark on the oil level dipstick.
► Top up fresh oil at the oil filler neck.
► Screw on the oil filler neck.
► Start the diesel engine.
Let the diesel engine run at slow idling speed for 10 seconds.
► Check if the oil filter is leaky.
► Check the oil level.
Top up fresh oil if necessary.
NOTICE!
Insufficient diesel engine oil pressure may cause diesel engine damage.
► After starting the diesel engine, watch the oil pressure indicator.
► If no oil pressure builds up 10 seconds after starting the diesel engine, stop the diesel engine immediately.
► Locate and remove the cause. If required, have the repair carried out by a qualified specialist workshop.

► Start the diesel engine.
Let the diesel engine run at slow idle speed for some minutes.
► When this display appears, the diesel engine oil pressure is too low. Stop the diesel engine immediately. Have the fault removed by a qualified specialist workshop.
► Stop the diesel engine and wait for 10 minutes to allow the oil to flow back into the oil pan.
► Check the oil level.
Top up fresh oil if necessary.
