Caterpillar ET 2018A Installation and Activation:
Step 1 – Unzip the files.
Step 2 – Go to the folder, Files-and-keys, copy the FlexLM folder, along with the license.dat file you find inside it, to the location C: getting after the copy C: FlexLM License.dat
Step 3 – Go to My Computer Properties, Advanced System Settings, Environment Variables. Verify that the following environment is available: Variable: CATLMD_LICENSE_FILE Value: C: FlexLM License.dat If you do not have the system variable, click Create or New in the “System Variable” part. Note that above is “User Variable for (the name of your computer)”. Create the new variable in the part of the system variable. Similarly. Variable: CATLMD_LICENSE_FILE Value: C: FlexLM License.dat
Step 4 – Install CAT ET 2018A and wincap when finished. When the installation completes successfully, copy and replace Comet.exe and CometDll.dll in the installed directory. (32bit operating system) C: Program Files Common Files Offboard Information Products 2018A Comet (64bit operating system) C: Program Files (x86) Common Files Offboard Information Products 2018A Comet Copy and replace CometDll.dll and FlashServer.dll in the installed directory. (32bit operating system) C: Program Files Common Files Offboard Information Products 2018A Flash (64bit operating system) C: Program Files (x86) Common Files Offboard Information Products 2018A Flash
Step 5 – run the getid file where it will inform the HWID of your computer, select and copy.
Step 6 – Run kg-no_hwid_lock and paste the HWID code you copied in the previous step, click generate and save the “activation.key” file in the same location as the Files-and-keys folder.
Step 7 – now copy the activation.key file to the following folders. (32bit operating system) C: Program Files Common Files Offboard Information Products 2018A Comet (64bit operating system) C: Program Files (x86) Common Files Offboard Information Products
Step 8 – now it is only to run the CAT ET 2018A. note that when everything is ok, it will not ask for any license when it starts. If prompted make sure you did all the correct steps and if you copied all the files to your due location mainly the license.dat and the activation.key.
