MPROP control: High side short circuit to HIGH SOURCE
The EEM monitoring system has detected a battery short circuit on the high pressure pump control (MPROP) high side. The fault was detected in the afterrun when the MPROP control was turned off.
Possible causes are:
The solenoid valve connector is defective.
The solenoid valve wiring is defective.
The solenoid valve is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:
Examine the solenoid valve wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
Measure the high side from the wiring terminal to the engine ground, to see if there is a battery short circuit.
Test the operation with another MPROP solenoid valve to see if the solenoid valve is defective.
MPROP control: low side short circuit to ground
The EEM monitoring system has detected a short circuit to ground on the high pressure pump control (MPROP) Low side. Possible causes are:
The solenoid valve connector is defective.
The solenoid valve wiring is defective.
The solenoid valve is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The engine power is reduced (Degradation 3). The CAN message indicates an active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:
Examine the solenoid valve wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
Measure the low side from the wiring terminal to the engine ground, to see if there is a short circuit to ground.
Test the operation with another MPROP solenoid valve to see if the solenoid valve is defective.
